Paradigm Kitchen Designplaces an environmental and
social emphasis on manufacturing ethods, materials
and operations.
Cabinetry
Our custom-manufactured cabinetry is more than
simply well built. It has also features key
environmental attributes:
Finishing - Our paint and lacquer finishes feature
ecologically sensitive attributes to preserve
air quality. For instance, our finishes are
totally HAPs free (hazardous air particles),
ultra-low in VOCs (volatile organic compounds)
and also have ultra-low formaldehyde content
that meets the stringent new European E1
standard. These finishes are also tough; with
high resistance to chemicals and wet heat.
Substrate - Cabinet substrate that is completely
Formaldehyde free is available as an option.
Wood - While we can offer virtually limitless
selection of wood species and materials,
endangered or ecologically-sensitive wood
species are not offered. All of our preferred
lumber and veneer suppliers offer only
sustainable natural products from managed
forests. If an exotic aesthetic is desired, we
also employ engineered veneers. These
manufactured veneers are fabricated using
reconstituted domestic wood, yet are designed to
imitate more exotic and sometimes endangered
wood species.
Renovations
When Paradigm undertakes a full renovation, we often
remove fully functional building materials such as
old sinks, faucets, appliances and cabinetry.
Rather than contributing to a land-fill, we make a
concerted effort to recycle these materials through
charitable organizations such as Habitat for
Humanity.
